Have you made an envelope book before? I’ve made several different kinds and they are fun and easy. Recently, I got together with my girlfriend’s and we all made envelope books, The best part is no body’s ever looks the same. We did double sided albums.
When making these albums you’ll want to seal the flaps, as your going to cover them, other albums you don’t have to (you decide). When starting this album, make the envelopes accordion style. Decide,if you want five or six envelopes, remember the first envelope is the cover and the last one is the back of the book ( I used six).
We used envelopes 5x 7 and some of the paper was cut 5×6 as to be able to use different paper to create a contrast . I used two dies from Sizzix-Top Note (it’s retiring 2015 from Stampin Up), and the San Serif letters (retired), decorate as you want.
I did one side of my book Hot Pink, the color doesn’t show the vibrant Hot Pink polka dots paper- I used inks from Stampin Up Strawberry Slush and Melon Mambo-the blue is Coastal Cabana. Yes! I always had bling-It’s a girlie thing
I have fun decorating, see the picture with the three flowers, quick tip-color a toothpick(I choose a light brown-when dried they look like twiggy).I love tearing paper, its gives a page dimension. I used Richard Garay’s “Celebrations” Rectangle Dies, I used it to create a frame in a frame.
Looks like I’m making a Hot Pink, Teal and Brown book. The flaps are sealed, So try making a pocket out of paper and slip a tag in. (I added some cute hot pink ric rac) That concludes the Happy this side, now flip the album over and create a whole new version
THE OTHER SIDE
My pretty side: Light Gray, Light Pink, Basic Black, Pearls and Bows.. splash of one dark color from the other side, Teal.
Because you have only one front envelope and one back. you can only create (well! I only created) one front cover and nothing on the back. It could be fun to use the back cover and make a title page as well be sure to make sure it’s not upside down. You can also use a ribbon to tie the album closed.
** Quick tip- if you want to use ribbon to tie the book,(closure), you’ll want to measure out the ribbon to go around the album and make a knot/bow. Be sure that the ribbon is equal on both sides (make sure it’s even-I’ve had a few mishaps). take your adhesive to secure the ribbon to the back of the album before you lay your paper on top of it!
These books are fast and easy, make great gifts and can definitely show your expressions. Make one and send me a photo and I’ll be sure to post it.
