Stampin Up can help create themed parties.Themed parties are my favorite, my latest themed party was creating a birthday party using colors as the theme: Light Pink, Hot Pink, Teal and Light Blue.
The birthday party was actually a card class for adult women. The party had 13 guests and at each of their seats, grid paper wishing them a Happy Birthday was placed in one of the choice colors (it was alternating) mentioned above. Also, at each seat the guest received a paper party bag stamp in the choice colors, the bags were stamped using a stamp set from Stampin Up known as Amazing Birthday. Each bag also included a tag, the tags were stamped in rotating the colors. I prepared a name tag representing birthday candles for the guests, using a variety of different paper. The topper or should I say the icing on the cake was getting cupcakes to match these exact colors. WOO HOO! I wanted the presentation of the room to be Awesome-It was! You don’t have to spend alot to get alot. (mason jars, tags, pinwheels, cupcakes, bags with tags, grid paper. The highlight when I knew it came together was when one of the guests said that when everything goes together it runs smoothly and when it’s done half ass, do people realize. (smile)
The pink and white confetti are card stock and polka dots are various papers, a regular pin (3 holed)was hot glued to the back.
The paper party bags
I didn’t make a light pink tag as it didn’t really stand out, I used a light blue, hot pink and teal. I think if you have a card party get together, you should always give a bag to hold your finish projects.
So, I had fun picking out the colors and figuring what could I do to make it look grown up yet FUN.
I took mason jars the large ones and started painting, I’m really happy on how these turned out, I found the easiest way to paint these it to first paint the jar white wait for the jar to dry and then paint the color of choice over the jar. (If you want more of a vintage/distressed look you need to wait for the paint to dry and take a piece of sandpaper or emery board and lightly sand over the jar. Very quick and fun project these were my table decorations and they held pin wheels- I was so excited to see the ladies go crazy over the pin wheels. My good friend Denise used the We R Memory new pinwheel board. She made some beautiful pinwheels using some old double sided paper from Stampin Up. The pinwheels were beautiful and everyone scattered to get one to take home .
