Today is a great day for making party favors, I feel in love with these cute little kraft boxes, these boxes were in the Stampin Up Holiday catalog and came in a package of 25 (which were perfect to make Advent Calendars) I have some friends who asked me to make some party favors, they wanted something fun, cute and simple. Thank goodness for those extra boxes-I love when I have extra stuff (BIG SMILE). The request turned out to be Mickey and Minnie Dapper Dan styles. (I think it means 30’s era) I prepared 50 Mickey’s and 50 Minnie’s Dapper Dan style. WOW did those boxes come in handy for party favors. Stampin Up has some great boxes at some excellent prices. Everything seen on this page can be purchase from Stampin Up! (just contact me to place an order). If you order directly online just use my name as your demostrator.
Each box is wrap with 1/4 ” black grosgrain ribbon and a paper bow is applied to the top. Stampin Up has a punch that makes into to a bow. unfortunately, it only cuts one bow so, you have to cut out an extra piece
On the Minnie, I attached the black bow on top above the black grosgrain ribbon and added gather net/tulle behind the bow, A rhinestone added to the middle behind the bow and I pulled a piece of the net/tulle over the box
On the Mickey, I added a felt mustache (sizzix die furnished by Stampin Up), I twirled the ends with a pencil to make a handlebar mustache. I added a hat the base is punched out with Stampin Up 2″ circle punch and I cut basic black card stock in the length of 12″(to go around) the height is 8″ bend the card stock to make a circle and tape it down. I hot glued the circle to the base to make the hat. I added a 1/2″ of glitter paper that goes around the base of the circle might (not only does the glitter band look good but it hides any glue that could be showing). The small glitter band does not go end to end it leaves a little open space I added a feather from Zuckers (www.zuckerfeather.com) feathers and two rhinestones.
I sure wish I was going to this party, from what I was told it sounds like fun.
