MICKEY MOUSE CHURRO COOKIES
HOW WOULD YOU LOVE TO MAKE SOME MICKEY SHAPED CHURRO COOKIES- YUMMIES FOR THE TUMMY
The hubs and I do our weekly adventure to Disneyland it’s our date nite. TIP** Disneyland is great to go to at the beginning of March (no crowd), In the third week DON’T GO- Spring Break starts..I found this recipe on-line and found out, it is actually a churro cookie. (I smell those kiosks as you walk from main street to the castle, and I always run to get one, I have a deep fryer and have never taken it out of the box since I bought it.
So, this recipe was pretty exciting. This recipe was calling out my name when it said it was inspired by Disney‘s Churro’s
I have always been a fan of Sandra Lee, how she doesn’t make everything from scratch (it’s ok to use part store bought and half homemade)
This recipe allows for frozen/refrigerated pie dough ( if you make your own and you have the time GO FOR IT!), I will do the store bought pie dough. make sure the dough is room temperature(it will HELP to eliminate in cracking as you unroll)
Since, this is Mickey- I love Mini (because, I drive a Mini Cooper), I got this Mickey Mouse Cookie Cutter, you can find it at the emporium on Main Street and at California Adventure. It sells for about $7.00. They have another one that is flimsy for about $3.00 and one to make Pancakes/eggs ($over 10.00). Roll out the pie dough aka cookie dough and slap down the Mickey Mouse Cookie Cutter and let the fun begin. I always use parchment paper, (quick and easy to clean up and throw away). Put parchment paper on cookie tray, add unbaked cookies to tray. Brush on melted butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Follow directions on pie dough packaging, TIP**Bake time will be shorter than a full pie crust, so watch closely. Cookies may only take five (5) minutes.
The cookies are best served warm, and with chocolate dipping sauce. Just melt a little of your favorite chocolate at half power in the microwave. Stir in a bit of cream. It’s as easy to make as the cookies, right?
